How to Add or Remove a Bookmark (HTML Anchor)

A hyperlink can go to a particular location on a web page by linking to a bookmark (HTML anchor) at the location. You can add a new bookmark and manage existing bookmarks in the current web page by using the Bookmark dialog box.
When you bookmark a selection of text, the text displays with a dashed underline in Design view. When you bookmark an empty location, the bookmark is indicated in Design view by a bookmark icon
when Show and Paragraph Marks are both selected under Formatting Marks on the View menu.
- Open the web page in either Design view or Code view.
- Select the text to which you want to assign a bookmark.
- On the Insert menu, click Bookmark.
- In the Bookmark dialog box, under Bookmark name, type a name for the bookmark (spaces are allowed).
- Open the web page in either Design view or Code view.
- On the Insert menu, click Bookmark.
- Under Other bookmarks on this page, click the bookmark you want to delete.
- Click Clear.
Tip You can also remove a bookmark that's selected in your web page by pointing to the <a> tag that appears in the Quick Tag Selector bar at the top of the web page, and then click the arrow next to the <a> tag and select Remove Tag.

When you want to view the web page, file, or bookmark (HTML anchor) that a hyperlink points to, you can do so from the web page that contains the hyperlink. You can also go to a bookmark from the web page that contains the bookmark, even if a hyperlink doesn't point to the bookmark.
In addition to regular hyperlinks, the span class="ui">Code view of a web page also displays code hyperlinks, which enable you to go to the code that contains a class-based style's rule set, a script function, or open a external cascading style sheet (CSS) that's attached to the page. The Code view displays both kinds of hyperlinks in blue (default) and with a straight underline (default) or according to the Code hyperlink settings in the Color Coding tab of the Page Editor Options dialog box.
To go to the destination of a hyperlink
- In Design view or Code view, press and hold CTRL and then click the hyperlink in your web page.
- Do one of the following:
- In Design view or Code view, press and hold CTRL, and then click the hyperlink in your web page.
- With your website open, on the Insert menu, click Bookmark. In the Bookmark dialog box, under Other bookmarks on this page, select the bookmark, click Go to and then click OK..
To navigate hyperlinks in Code view
- In span class="ui">Code view, in your web page, put your cursor in the hyperlink.
- To go to the destination of the hyperlink, do one of the following.
- Press and hold CTRL and then click the hyperlink.
- On the Edit menu, point to Code View, and click Follow Code Hyperlink.
- On the Code View toolbar, click the Follow Code Hyperlink button

- To return to the source or destination of a hyperlink you've followed, do one of the following.
- On the Edit menu, point to Code View, and click either Next Code Hyperlink or Previous Code Hyperlink.
- On the Code View toolbar, click either the Next Code Hyperlink button
